We start by looking at the pile. Size and material tell us which truck and machine to bring out. Access matters too, since the grapple truck needs room to set up and swing the arm. Estimates are free and you get a price before any work starts.
The grapple arm loads straight from the pile into the truck bed. It grabs whole trees and root balls in one bite, so nobody drags limbs by hand. A skid steer with a root grapple gathers whatever is spread across the ground. On rural land that includes old fencing and farm scrap that has sat in the weeds.
Full loads go to a proper disposal site, then the truck comes back for the next one. Debris from a building teardown runs as demolition, which is a separate job. When the last load leaves, we rake the spot clean so you can mow it. The bare spot will green back up on its own.
Volume is the biggest piece of it. A single brush pile behind the shop is one truck load. A fence line of storm debris down a long field can be five or six loads. We count loads, because that is what the work really is.
Material changes the number too. Clean wood and brush go to one place, and mixed construction debris goes to another. Metal and treated lumber have their own rules at the disposal site. Sorting takes time on the front end, and dumping costs more on the back end.
Distance matters because every load is a round trip. A place out past Rutherfordton takes longer per load than a lot in town. Access counts too, and a truck that can back to the pile works faster. We look at all of it on site, then give you a price.
Helene put a lot of trees on the ground in September 2024. Some of that wood is still stacked where it fell. Storm debris calls still come in from Boiling Springs, Lawndale and Grover. Two winters of weather have not made the pile any easier to move.
Farms around Cherryville and Lincolnton call about old fencing and scrap metal in the tree line. Rolls of wire and rusted panels add up fast once you start pulling them out. Land buyers in Forest City, Rutherfordton and Spindale call before closing so the lot is clear. A place that is changing hands needs the junk gone before anyone can start work.
Builders in Kings Mountain, Gastonia, Bessemer City and Dallas call when a job wraps. Framing scrap and pallets pile up fast, and the lot has to be clean at the end.
