Forestry Mulching
Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees into a mulch layer where they stand. Nothing gets hauled off and nothing gets burned.
Land clearing in Kings Mountain usually starts with ground that got away from someone. Pine and sweetgum take over old pasture. Privet and briar swallow a fence line in a couple of seasons. A lot can look open from York Road and turn into a wall once you step in.
We work out of Shelby, about 14 miles west of Kings Mountain on US 74. Most of what we do here is forestry mulching, bush hogging, tree removal and stump grinding. We also handle grading, leveling, excavation, demolition and debris haul off. We own the mulcher, skid steers, excavators and dozer, so the schedule does not depend on a rental yard.

Kings Mountain sits at about 950 feet, with harder ridges just east of town. Kings Pinnacle in Crowders Mountain State Park tops out at 1,705 feet. Much of the county runs on Cecil and Pacolet soils, the local red clay. That clay holds water after rain and turns slick under a machine.
Building has picked up here. The Catawba Two Kings Casino is going up on Kings Mountain Boulevard, just off I-85 at Exit 5. The city also approved Lacey Orchard at Crocker and Shelby roads, close to 100 acres of houses and townhomes. Albemarle is working to reopen its lithium mine along the same stretch of I-85.
That mix is why a clearing job here changes street to street. Near Moss Lake you get wooded lots running down to the water. Out toward Bethware and Oak Grove you get pasture, hay ground and cutover pine coming back thick.
Yes, most of the time. Forestry mulching grinds standing brush and small trees where they stand. The chips stay on the dirt and hold the soil in place on a slope. That works well on wooded lots near Moss Lake and on the slopes toward Crowders Mountain.
Some jobs need more than mulching. If you are putting in a driveway or a house pad, the roots have to come out. Then we bring a grapple and a root rake, pull the stumps, and grade the dirt back smooth. On wet clay we wait for the ground to dry rather than rut your pasture.
Either way you get a surface you can use. Mow it, fence it, plant it or build on it. We can leave the mulch spread out or haul the wood off with a grapple truck. Tell us which one you want before we start.

Highly recommend Dewey and the team at LDS Solutions! They have done phenomenal work for us at Wallace Haven LLC clearing downed and dying trees, cleaning up overgrown areas, and helping transform our property. They've been dependable, hardworking, professional, and easy to work with from start to finish.
We couldn't be happier with the work this crew did on our property! They handled land clearing, forestry mulching, brush hogging, and even some skid steer and excavator work. The land clearing and mulching made such a huge difference; it looks like a whole new space now. We'll definitely be using them again!
Hurricane Helene took down many of our trees, preventing us from enjoying our space by the creek. These folks came, developed a plan, reviewed it with me, provided a fair price, and restored my access to the woods and creek. They also left the property spotless once the project was completed. CLEAN!
Dewey came to my home in Shelby. He used his forestry mulcher and cleared my back yard and fence line. He also removed all the roots and vines running up on my house. Before, I could not see my fence or shed. I recommend anyone to use him and his services.
I fought a yard slope for our above ground pool for a few years now. Dewey showed up and solved it all within a day and the grading is top notch. 100% recommended!
Dewey forestry mulched for 11 days. They also excavated and dug out two 24 inch culvert pipes to allow us access on land. Amazing job, highly recommended to anyone needing work done! On time every day and under budget!
These guys do great work at a great price! Thank you!
